Bessacarr A continued their strong start to the Division 1 season with a spirited 6–3 win over a determined Cawthorne A side. Playing on home turf, the team came out firing, racing to a 4–0 lead using the home court to full advantage.

But Cawthorne weren’t about to roll over. Their reply came swiftly, and what followed was a tense exchange of rubbers that kept the match finely balanced. With five of the nine rubbers going the distance to three ends — and several sets pushed to setting — this was far from a routine win. Every point was contested, every rally a battle with some fantastic rallies and excellent play.

The standout pairing of the night was Craig and Webby, who delivered a flawless performance, winning all of their games that proved pivotal in securing the overall result. A special mention goes to Cawthorne’s third pair, who showed incredible grit and stamina. All three of their rubbers went to three ends, and although they came up short each time, their effort was relentless — they truly earned every minute on court.

With this win, Bessacarr A continue to build momentum in Division 1, proving they can handle pressure and close out tight matches. The squad’s depth and team spirit is great to see.
