In their second clash of the week, Doncaster’s Bessacarr Badminton B team hosted a Staincross side, this time for a Division 2 showdown in the Barnsley Badminton League — and what a match it turned out to be

Staincross came out strong, with their top pair John Baker and Nathan Henassy taking the opening game in straight sets against Jason and Tony. But Bessacarr weren’t rattled — they roared back, claiming the next three games in dominant fashion to surge ahead 3–1.

Staincross’s top duo weren’t done yet, clawing back another win to narrow the gap to 3–2. But Bessacarr responded with another solid performance to stretch the lead to 4–2, setting the stage for a tense finale.

With three games left, the match was still wide open — and the pressure was on. Sujo and Renju delivered a nail-biting win in Game 7, edging it 24–22, 21–18 to seal the overall victory. whilst Jason and Tony followed up with a gritty comeback in a three-set thriller: 16–21, 21–12, 21–7.

Staincross’s top pair capped off their night with a third win, earning the title of top pair of the evening — but it wasn’t enough to stop Bessacarr from clinching a well-earned 6–3 triumph.
